Chenango United Way Sub-Committees

Administration

Executive Committee - is comprised of the Board’s officers and meets the first Wednesday of each month from 8:30am-9:30am at the United Way office. This committee deals with the day-to-day office needs between quarterly Board meetings.

Finance

Finance & Audit Committee - is comprised of both Board members and community representatives and meets quarterly from 8:00am-9:00am at the United Way office. This committee reviews the quarterly operating budget and financial statements and assists in the annual operating budget preparation and annual audit process. This committee also is responsible for overseeing the planned giving program, with an emphasis on bequests restricted to the quasi-endowment account. The goal of this initiative is to grow the quasi-endowment account to a level where the revenue earned from the fund will completely cover the organization’s administrative overhead.

Community Impact, Agency Relations and Outcome Measurement

Community Impact Committee - is comprised of both Board members and community representatives and meets monthly from 8:00am-9:30am at the United Way office. This committee is responsible for overseeing the annual RFP process and RFP technical assistance, as well as the mid and end year outcome reporting process. This committee also discusses the organization’s involvement in community partnerships and collaborations.

Community Impact Fall RFP Review Panels - It is suggested that all CUW Board members serve on one RFP Review Panel to assist in the review of annual community impact grant requests.  The annual time commitment is minimal, but service on the committee allows the Board member to get “first hand” experience with the annual allocations process. Review Panels meet in the fall of each year to review submitted proposals. All of the panels convene in January of each year to determine annual grant amounts.

Mid Year Site Visit Review Panels - meet during the summer to conduct mid year site visits at all funded Community Partners. This committee will also oversee the end of year reporting process as well.

Fund Raising

Campaign Cabinet - is comprised of both Board members and community representatives. This committee meets monthly to plan and execute the fall fund raising campaign.

Special Events

Day of Caring Committee - is comprised of both Board members and community representatives. This committee meets frequently from March to September of each year to plan and implement the annual kick-off event. View our EVENTS page to see photos and to learn more about past Day of Caring events.

Mini-Golf Committee - is comprised of both Board members and community representatives.  This committee meets monthly to plan and implement the Annual March event and NEW the Gus Macker Event. View our EVENTS page to see photos and to learn more about past Mini-Golf events.
